Tris Buffered Saline (TBS) Tween 20 is one of the most commonly used biological buffers for plate based immunoassays and Western blotting. It is isotonic, non-toxic to cells and contains a non-ionic detergent. It is used preferably as an antibody diluent and wash reagent in ELISA and Western blotting using alkaline phophatase or peroxidase-conjugated antibodies.
